All students have received a study guide for the above tests and should be in the process of completing index cards to use as flashcards to aid them in preparing for their upcoming tests.

Lyceum Update

Beginning on Tuesday 2/15  Lyceum classes will now meet by houses at the end of the day!

Reepicheep: 

7th grade with Mr. McKee    8th grade with Mrs. Glowe

Pevensie: 

7th grade with Ms. Boring       8th grade with Mr. White

Oakenshield: 

7th grade with Mr. Chisholm  8th grade with Ms. Stevens

Baggins: 

7th and 8th grade will be with Coach Disney and Coach Ginithan

Uniform and Cell Phone Policy

 All students reviewed the Uniform and Cell Phone policy today during Lyceum.  Below you will find a review of the policy that is also found in the Family Handbook.

Dear Students and Families, 

As the number of after-school activities on campus grow, it is important that we are all happily participating within the guidelines set forth in our Family Handbook for the safety and well-being of all students and families. Please note the following: 

Uniform policy reminder: 

Students must stay in uniform whenever they are on campus (including the parking lot) during a school day or when visiting another school’s campus. This means arriving on campus fully in uniform and leaving campus fully in uniform (correct shoes, shirts tucked in, etc.). Students may only change out of uniform after school with teacher/coach permission to participate in an approved curricular or extracurricular activity that requires an immediate change in dress. Students staying after school for clubs or to spectate at athletic games, drama performances or other school events need to stay in uniform. Students do not need to wear uniforms to athletic events on Saturdays. 

Cell phone policy reminder: 

Cell phones should not be used anywhere on campus before, during, or after school, including at school sanctioned events being held on campus. Any non-permitted use or possession of a cell phone will result in confiscation of the phone and disciplinary action. 

If a school employee observes a student using a cell phone or other paging device during the school day or at a school-related activity, the employee will collect the item and turn it in to the designated administrator’s office. A parent will be contacted to pick up the confiscated item. 

Great Hearts Western Hills is designating two “cell phone zones” for Upper School students to use to contact their parent or guardian to coordinator rides after school hours. Cell Phone Zone 1 is outside the Upper School entrance to the left of the front steps. Cell Phone Zone 2 is outside the southside of the Spartan Gym facing the parking lot. Signs will be erected to designate the zones. Students may only use these zones to communicate with parents. Students are prohibited from using phones anywhere on campus outside of these zones and only after school hours for the purpose of communicating about rides.
